About Post-Hype Hot Takes
We review things late. On purpose. We’re not behind — we’re Post-Hype.
What Is PH2T?
Post-Hype Hot Takes is a podcast network built on a simple premise: the best time to talk about something is after everyone else has stopped talking about it. No launch-day takes. No hype-driven opinions. Just honest, considered discussion from people who actually finished the thing.
We launched in 2025 with our flagship show — also called Post-Hype Hot Takes — where Chris and Sean review games, films, and TV at least a year after release. Since then, the network has grown to include shows on comics, sport, philosophy, and language.
Why the Wait?
Because the discourse around new releases is almost always terrible. Day-one reviews are written under embargo pressure. Social media reacts to trailers, not the thing itself. Opinions calcify before anyone has had time to actually think.
By waiting a year or more, we get to talk about the work on its own terms. The hype has faded. The contrarian backlash has faded too. What’s left is just: was it any good? And if so, why?
What We Cover
Across the network we cover video games, films, TV series, comic books, sport, board games, language, philosophy, and fiction. If it was released more than a year ago and we have opinions about it, it’s fair game.
Behind the Curve Since 2025
Our tagline isn’t an excuse — it’s a statement of intent. We’re proud to be late. Fashionably, deliberately, unrepentantly late.
